How Do I Identify Which JL Audio Subwoofer is Installed?
The best way to identify the model of JL Audio subwoofer is the remove it from the enclosure.
The model number should be located on the back of the magnet of the subwoofer.
If there is no model number present on the subwoofer, the second best solution is to look for a serial number and contact JL Audio for the model number.
Giving generalized descriptive directions to help identify a subwoofer can be tricky due to the variety of different subwoofer models.
For instance, the W0, W1, and W3 subwoofers are all in their third iteration of production.
Therefore, each of these models have three different versions that increase the odds of misidentifying the correct subwoofer model based on looks alone. This information presented here pertains to the current product offering only.
The only way to be 100% certain is the remove the subwoofer from its enclosure and check the back of the magnet, or to retrive a serial number and contact JL Audio.
If you'd still like to proceed without removing the subwoofer, here are some methods you can use to try and identify your subwoofer model:
Looks similar to the W1 with the "Dinner Plate" appearance
Small JL Audio logo in the center
The mounting of the TW5 uses mounting ears instead of the traditional, 8 mounting holes. Instead there are 4 "Ears" and each ear has two screw holes in it.
