Louis Melton's 1971 Ford F100 is nicknamed 'The Beast'.
After many years cruising a previous '71 F100 on the Southern Californa streets, the original truck needed to make way for a more family-friendly vehicle. It didn't take long until Melton was again looking for F100's. One night on a popular 'For Sale by Owner' website, Melton came across a blast from their past. It just happened to be a '71 F100 that was running and available at a great price. After contacting the owner, "the rest was history" as they say.
Melton has spent some time fixing up 'The Beast'. The F100 360 2 barrel engine needed a tune-up and a new card. Melton also added electronic ignition, a new fuel pump, headers, single chamber flow masters, ford valve covers, and to top it all off: fuzzy dice.
Melton is excited for more projects with 'The Beast' in the future. However, it's currently comforting for them to know that sometimes you can go back for a fresh start.
