Norm Dravis found their 1955 Chevrolet 210 in Charleston, South Carolina, and had it shipped to their home in California in 2002.
When Dravis purchased the car, the only update at the time of purchase was the installation of a small block Chevrolet engine with a 350 transmission.
Since then, Dravis has taken on the restoration of the 210 by switching the engine out for an LS 1 Corvette motor with a 4 Liter 60 E transmission. Dravis has also fully upgraded the suspension with tubular a-arms with four-link rear suspension with posit traction differential. Also, Dravis has installed an Ididit tilt steering wheel, a big block crossflow radiator with electric fans from Matson, a smooth firewall, all new glass with electric windows, and vintage AC.
Dravis has also revamped the interior with GTO front and rear bucket seats and a center console with secret radio tied to a subwoofer in the trunk. The interior restoration also included Dynamat covering in the floor, ceiling, firewall, quarters, and doors, resulting in a quiet ride on the inside with no rattles or squeaks. Dravis has plans to finalize the paint and body updates as the last step in their restoration process but loves that the 210 runs and drives just like a new car.
When asked about their favorite memory with the car, Dravis recalled their first car at 16 years old being a 1955 Chevrolet and loves the sentimental value their new 210 ties to their past.
