Do I have to put the radio together? No. The radio comes out of the box ready to install. The face is attached, and the tuner shafts are already installed and connected to the mother board. The knob spacing is set at the factory and you do not need to do any measuring. The knobs are included and any bezels needed to fit the center opening are included. You do not need to purchase them separately.
Where is the AUX input? The AUX input is located on the back of the radio. It is an RCA jack and the RCA to 3.5mm cable is included with the radio. For convenience, we recommend the Rockford Fosgate PAUX because it provides an extension so that you can easily access the auxiliary input in your dash, usually through the cigarette lighter opening.
How do I know if my dash has been modified? The best way to determine if your dash has been modified is to remove your old radio. Once the radio is removed, it is usually very clear as to whether or not your dash has been cut. If it is a large 7"x2" hole and it isn't a VW or European vehicle, it has likely been cut. For this radio to work, you should see three holes, one for each knob and then a rectangular hole for the nose-piece.
What if I get the radio and it doesn't fit?If your dash has NOT been cut, THIS RADIO WILL FIT. There are instances where a vehicle's dash has been cut and when they cut it, they did a really nice job, making it almost impossible to tell. If this happens, do not worry. We can exchange nose-piece adapters and/or adjust the knob spacing to make the radio work. The only time this becomes difficult is if the dash has been cut to a DIN size opening. But, we have solutions for that too.
Does this radio come with a warranty?Yes. Custom Autosound warranties the radio for 2 years. When you purchase your radio from ClassicCarStereos.com it comes with our 60 Day Advanced Replacement Program.
What is the 60 Day Advanced Replacement Program? If we can determine that your radio is defective and it is within 60 days of the order date, we will send you out a replacement and a return shipping label. Instead of going through the warranty process with Custom Autosound, we will manage the warranty with Custom Autosound on our end. The advanced replacement program saves you the time of shipping the radio back, going through the testing process, then shipping the radio back to you. That is no fun, especially when there are only so many months of the year when car shows take place and it is ideal to drive your classic car. The Advanced Replacement Program is only valid for 60 days after purchase.
