The Kicker 43CVR102 CompVR, 10-inch subwoofer has dual 2 ohm voice coils and can handle 350 watts RMS. The 10" Kicker CompVR is a perfect option if you want to move out of the "Affordable, entry-level," subwoofers and you want something that can handle a little more power. The Kicker CompVR works in both sealed and ported enclosures and the dual voice coils allow for installation flexibility regardless of how many woofers you install. These full-size subwoofers have Kicker's "raised-spoke" cone for increased rigidity and output while also producing a distinctive "knock" sound when they distort, essentially telling you to turn down the volume and/or bass.
The dual 2 ohm voice coil on this 10" Kicker CompVR will allow you to run a single subwoofer at 1 ohm, 2 subwoofers at 2 ohms, 3 subwoofers at 1.3 ohms, and 4 subwoofers at 1 ohm. Always make sure the check the impdance ratings on your amplifier to ensure that it is 1 or 2 ohm stable if you plan to wire to those impedances. Most subwoofer amps are 2 ohm stable, not all of them are 1 ohm stable.
If you plan on running a single subwoofer, we recommend going with the 4 Ohm DVC version of the 10 inch Kicker CompVR that will allow you to wire it to 2 ohms. This will make it easier on the amplifier and extend the life of your stereo system.
For amplifiers, we like the Kicker CX400.1 and the Kicker KX400.1 if you run 1 subwoofer. If you run 2 subwoofers, we recommend the Kicker CX800.1 or the Kicker KX800.1. For 3 subs, we recommend the Kicker CX1200.1 or the KX1200.1, and for 4 subwoofers, the KX1600.1.
