The Kicker 48CWR82 8 inch, CompR subwoofer can handle 300 watts RMS and has dual, 2 ohm voice coils. The Kicker CompR subwoofers are designed to not only hit hard, but also sound good. These subwoofers work in both sealed and ported enclosures and are super reliable. The CompR is perfect if you are looking for a mid-level Kicker subwoofer that is going to handle decent power, give you more than an entry level option like the CompC, and sound better than the CompVR.

If you are comparing the CompR to the CompRT, the CompR is going to hit harder and give you more output, but it is a full-size woofer and the deeper mounting depth requires a larger enclosure.

If you are comparing the CompR to the CompVR, the CompR is going to handle more power and since the cone doesn't have the raised spokes like the CompVR, the CompR will be much more accurate and just sound better.

The dual 2 ohm voice coil is perfect for running a single subwoofer at 1 ohm, a pair of subwoofers at 2 ohms, 3 subwoofers at 1.3 ohms, or 4 subwoofers at 1 ohm. Make sure to check the power ratings on your amplifier to ensure that your amp is 1 ohm or 2 ohm stable.

For amplifiers, we like the CX400.1 and the KX400.1 to power 1 subwoofer, and the CX800.1 or the KX800.1 to power 2 subwoofers. If you plan to run 3 subs, go with the CX800.1 or the KX800.1, and for 4 woofers, go with the KX1200.1.
