The 12W6v3-D4 is the best 12" subwoofer if you want that, tight, punchy, feel-it-in-your chest bass response. These subwoofers hit super hard, while remaining tight and punchy. Many think that the W6 is the best subwoofer that JL Audio because it just sounds different than the W7. The W7 is goes lower and is more accurate, but it doesn't have that "Kick drum that you feel in your chest" that a W6 has. The 12W6v3-D4 handles up to 600 watts of RMS power and given it's power handling and output, performs in a relatively small air space. The W6 is legendary and for a long time was the top of the line subwoofer that JL offered, before they released the W7.

The 12W6v3-D4 model comes in a dual, 4 Ohm voice coil. We recommend powering the 12W6v3-D4 with a a JL Audio XD600/1 or Slash 600/1 amplifier, but you can skimp with an RD500/1. If you are running multiple subwoofers, we recommend the HD1200/1 or the Slash 1200/1 to ensure you get maximum output. The RD1000/1 and XD1000/1 are not 1 ohm stable and don't have enough output at 4 ohms to power 2 of these subwoofers.

The 12W6v3-D4 12" subwoofer is optimized to operate in a compact 0.628 cubic feet (17.78 liter) sealed enclosure, or a 0.828 cubic feet (23.45 liter) ported enclosure.
