JL Audio 12W1v3-4 W1 12 Inch Subwoofer 4 Ohm

The JL Audio 12W1v3-4 is a 12 inch subwoofer with a 4 ohm voice coil and offers improved construction and better materials than the W0 line. The W1s have a Mica-filled polypropylene cone, rubber surround, and they are available in both 2 ohm and 4 ohm voice coils. This 12" subwoofer combines JL Audio's hard-hitting bass, affordability, and long term durability, all into one compact, yet impressive, package.

The 12W1v3-4 is designed to work in a sealed enclosure. It features a shallow mounting depth of 5.41" while delivering full-sized output. The compact motor structure, allows it to comfortably fit in a lot of spaces where a typical 12-inch driver will not.

The 12W1v3-4 12" subwoofer is optimized to operate in a compact 1.1 cu. ft. sealed enclosure or a 1.6 cu. ft. ported enclosure.

We recommend this 4 ohm version for dual subwoofer installations to maximize the output of your amplifier to a 2 ohm load by wiring your subwoofer in parallel. Or, if you are bridging your full-range amplifier to power a single subwoofer, this 4 ohm version is the best option as most amplifiers are only 4 ohm stable when bridged. If you are looking to power a single subwoofer, we recommend the 2 ohm version, 12W1v3-2. If you are powering a two subwoofers, we like the XD600/1v2, RD500/1, and the JD500/1.
