Opening Fits Most 5.25" Speakers

These 1967-1968 Mustang Convertible kick panels are made to fit MOST 5.25" speakers. Because cone and basket sizes are not standardized, fitment can vary by brand and sometimes by series within a single brand. We have had the best results with the Kicker CS and Kicker KS 5.25" speakers. It is also a good idea to steer clear of speakers with large or bulky grilles, which can get in the way of the parking brake.

Prefer a ready-to-install solution? We can pre-install Kicker CS Series or Kicker KS Series 5.25" speakers in these 1967-1968 Mustang Convertible kick panels for you. Both fit the opening correctly, and a pre-installed set is a great option if you are keeping the panels black.

The Kicker CS Series is an excellent step up from factory speakers, offering clear sound and high efficiency that works well with either radio power or an amplifier. The Kicker KS Series is the top of Kicker's lineup, using silk dome tweeters to produce a warm, smooth, and well-balanced sound. Without an amplifier, the KS speakers are slightly less loud than the CS, but once amplified they deliver greater volume and deeper bass. Keep in mind that the KS grilles extend a little further than the CS grilles, so moving the e-brake mounting bracket over may be necessary for adequate clearance.
