If you are looking to improve the sound quality in your 1964-1966 Ford Mustang and want to use your own speakers, these kick panels are perfect. The 1964-1966 Ford Mustang kick panel speakers are made of high quality ABS plastic and feature a pre-cut opening for a 5.25" speaker for easy installation. The kick panels come in black with the factory correct texture, but the surface is paintable so you can match your interior if you do not have a black interior. These Mustang kick panels install just like the stock kick panels but are modified to allow a 5.25" speaker to be mounted in them.

Opening Fits Most 5.25" Speakers

The speaker opening in these Mustang kick panels is designed to accommodate MOST 5.25" speakers. However, speaker cone and basket sizes can vary from brand to brand, and sometimes even from series to series within the same brand. We have found that the Kicker CS and Kicker KS 5.25" speakers generally fit the best. You also want to make sure the speakers do not have overly bulky speaker grilles that may interfere with the parking brake.

If you don't want to mess with finding speakers, we have done the work for you. The Kicker CS Series and Kicker KS Series 5.25" speakers fit well in these 1964-1966 Ford Mustang kick panels, and we will pre-install them for you. This works great if you plan to leave the kick panels black.

The Kicker CS Series is a great upgrade over stock speakers. They are very efficient and work well powered by your radio or an amplifier. The Kicker KS Series is Kicker's top of the line speaker, featuring silk dome tweeters for a smooth, warm, and balanced sound. The KS speakers are not as loud as the CS when powered by the radio, but when amplified they play louder and offer better bass response. Please note that the KS speaker grilles protrude slightly further than the CS and may require moving the e-brake mounting bracket over for clearance.

The Kicker CS speakers are better if you don't have an amplifier. If you have an amplifier, the Kicker KS are worth the extra $$ if you have the power for them.
