If you are looking to improve the sound quality in your 1967-1972 Chevy truck and want to use or add your own speakers, these kick panels are perfect. The 1967-1972 Chevy truck panel speakers are made of ABS plastic and feature a pre-cut speaker hole for easy installation. The kick panels are available in black with the factory correct texture, but they can be painted to match your interior if you do not have a black interior. These Chevy truck kick panels install just like the stock kick panels, but have the holes for the speakers.
The speaker opening for these Chevy C/K series speakers is designed to accomodate MOST 6.5" speakers. However, speaker cones and the basket sizes can vary from brand to brand, and even sometimes from series to series within the same brand. We have found that the Kicker CS and Kicker KS speakers generally fit the best. The other thing to keep in mind is the mounting depth. These kick panels usually need speakers with a mounting depth that is less than 1-15/16" (50mm). You also want to make sure that the speakers do not have overly bulky speaker grilles that may interfere with the the parking brake.
If you don't want to mess with finding speakers, we have done the work for you. The Kicker CS Series and Kicker KS series speakers fit well in these 1967-1972 Chevy truck kick panels, and we will pre-install them for you. This works great if you plan to leave the kick panels black. The Kicker CS speakers work well with or without an amplifier while the Kicker KS speakers perform better with an amp.
In addition to the Kicker options, we also offer these kick panels pre-installed with Rockford Fosgate 6.5" speakers. The Rockford Fosgate speakers will sound great with or without an amplifier. However, the Rockford speakers are slightly oversized, so we use a 5.25" speaker instead of the 6.5" Kicker, but they cone and basket are very similar in size.
